Local Education Authority Travel Pass
Students aged between at 16 and 19 years on the 1st September at the start of the course can apply to their LEA for subsidised travel.
For those living in the Kent County Council area but excluding the Medway the application must be in by 31st July and the charge is £165 a term unless in receipt of Income Support, income based Jobseekers Allowance, Pension Credit
or Child Tax Credit but do not receive Working Tax Credit and have an income not exceeding £16,040. Forms are available from the College.
For those living in the Medway area, the charge varies between £313.50 and £429.95 and there are no fee waivers. Forms are available from Medway Council.
Students who are not entitled to an LEA travel pass can contact the discretionary Learner Support fund for advice.
Sudents aged 19 and over who are on low income or living with parents or guardians on low income can apply to the discretionary Learner Support Fund for assistance with travel costs provided Canterbury or Sheppey is the nearest college offering this type course.
Those students in receipt of an Adult Learning Grant will be expected to use part of this allowance towards their travel costs.
