Connexions & Careers Advisors

Julian Hodges, a Personal Advisor from Connexions Kent and Medway, visits the Student Information Centre to give careers and progression advice to current students, anyone aged 16 – 19 and up to 25 where there are additional learning needs.

Julian is able to offer support and referral for the following

  • Routes into Careers
  • Apprenticeships
  • Careers
  • CV Writing
  • Higher Education
  • Job searching and application
  • Training
  • Volunteering
  • Group sessions
  • Individual Guidance appointments
  • Gap year advice

Students can book in to see Julian between 0900 - 1200 on Wednesdays in the Student Information Centre for one-to-one interviews, or in the LRC Drop In Support Centre on Wednesdays 1200 1330.

Kay O'Connell is a Personal Advisor available to work with young people who require support for personal issues. Kay is based in the Student Information Centre, but we can arrange Connexions support for students at our Sheppey Campus.

Kay is able to offer support and referral for the following

    • Alcohol and Substance misuse

    • Difficulties at college with your course/tutor/group

    • Health - mental, physical or sexual health

    • How to make an appeal: whether it be academic, suspension, or non-payment of grants
  • Attendance and advocacy at a  student disciplinary in some cirumstances

    • Money, benefits and housing

    • Pregnancy

    • Bullying

    • Relationships
