The College recognises that disabled students may face additional barriers at college.
We aim to address these barriers and ensure every disabled student gets the support they need to take an equal part in college life.
A disabled person may have:
- Physical or sensory difficulties
- Mental health difficulties e.g. Depression
- A recognised medical condition such as cancer or arthritis
- A specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia or dyspraxia
If you need information or advice on any aspect of being at college including support with learning, access around the college or just someone to talk to, you can contact Sharon Clarke, our Disability Adviser, on 01227 811334, email s.clarke@canterburycollege.ac.uk or visit her at the Student Information Centre.
The Disability Adviser can also:
- Liaise with other departments to ensure your additional needs are met
- Help with any access issues
- Refer you on to external organisations
- Advise you on the Disability Policy of the college
