Course Entry Requirements
You can find specific information about entry requirements to each course, including the level of study and UK qualification entry requirements, on each course webpage - follow the links above to access these.
We will compare the certificates achieved in your home country to check the equivalent UK qualifications using the NARIC system.
What should my level of English be?
To ensure that you have the best possible chance of success in your chosen course of study, Canterbury College requires all students from non-English speaking nations to have a standard of English equivalent to IELTS 5.5. (To study Business at BA top up an average 6.5 in IELTS, minimum 6.0 in reading and writing, 5.5 in listening and speaking is required).
The UK Border Agency also requires proof of an acceptable level of English as part of the visa application process so, in line with their requirements, any student wanting us to sponsor them through the Tier 4 points based system will need to provide us with a UK Border Agency approved certificate showing their level of English.
English Language Courses
If you would like more information about an English Language course then please contact the Student Information Centre who will be able to advise you if there are any courses coming up.
Please note that these courses do not meet the criteria for us to provide you with a Tier 4 visa and will only run if there is sufficient demand.
Note: The deadline for receipt of an application is July 1st for consideration for the academic year beginning in the following September. However, students should make every effort to submit applications as early as possible to ensure visas are secured.
