Step 1

All applications for higher education are through UCAS, apart from the University of Greenwich part-time courses where you can apply through the Greenwich University website. Check with the Student Information Centre at the College and for UCAS deadlines and for late UCAS applications. All applications will be considered, but we encourage you to apply early to have the best possible chance of gaining a place on the course of your choice. Step 2

You will be invited to attend an advice & guidance day. These provide you and your parents or guardians with the opportunity to find out everything you need to know about the course, the College, and to look around.

Their purpose is to check that the course you have applied for is the best option for you - so this is really is a two way process.

Step 3

The offer will either be unconditional, or conditional on you achieving the entry requirements, for the course, subject to available places remaining.

Underlying the offer is the premise that we will make every effort to provide you with an alternative course should your plans change or your eventual results be higher or lower than expected.

Step 4

In the summer we will write to you inviting you to come in to enrol before the start of term. You will need to bring your exam results with you. If you haven’t achieved the entry requirements, try not to worry.

Come in anyway and the tutors will advise you on alternative courses that may be suitable for you. At enrolment, you will be asked to complete a Learning Agreement, given your Student Card and your joining instructions

Course Fees

Fee Code E: Higher Education Courses:

Higher Education programmes at Canterbury College are validated with three partner universities, and therefore there are differences in the tuition fees. You can see which university your chosen course is validated through, on the individual programme pages.

The fees are shown below for the year 2012/13 and not for the whole programme. Part-time fees are pro-rata, depending on how many modules are delivered in each year.

Full-time

All fees quoted are based on a standard 120-credit programme of study:

• University of Greenwich undergraduate full-time £6,000 fees for home students in 2012-2013 for the first year. (2012-2013 entry fees are subject to approval)
• University of Kent undergraduate full-time £6,000 fees for home students in 2012-2013 for the first year. (2012-2013 entry fees are subject to approval)
• Canterbury Christ Church University undergraduate full-time £6,000 fees for home students in 2012-2013 for the first year. (Not applicable for DTLLS)
• Equivalent Learning Qualification (ELQ**) £6,000 (ELQ Students may not be entitled to a Fees loan)

Part-time:

• Part Time Fees are applied pro rata at a rate of £6000 for 120 credits *

*This applies to Part Time BA, FD, HNC and HND.

**ELQ - due to recent government changes students who are considered to be studying equivalent or lower level qualifications (ELQ's) may not be entitled to a student loan.

No full-time undergraduate student with home status will have to pay fees up-front for their first degree. Instead you can choose to take out a student loan which will be paid directly to the university on your behalf.

You will not have to start repaying this until you have left Higher Education and are earning over £15000. Student loans to help with living costs are also available for full-time students, and you may be entitled to a non-repayable maintenance grant (dependent on household income). Any fees advertised are applicable for one academic year only and are subject to revision annually.
