A vocational alternative to a degree, this programme covers a broad range of issues related to companion animals, wildlife, conservation and animal husbandry. There is a significant amount of practical work both in the laboratory and in the field to develop skills and understanding. In 2010 HND and BSc students attended at their own expense an official optional academic African safari field trip.

Applicants must have at least one of the following; 1 A level or a BTEC National Diploma at MMM it or equivalent in a related subject. Mature students who do not fi t this profi le but have relevant experience are welcomed on the programme. Assessment is by a mixture of coursework, practical assignments and project work.Progression:
Upon completion, students will have the skills to enter a career in the animal science sector, or to continue their studies to BSc (Hons) Animal Science.
