Hairdressing (Evening Option) C&G Certificate - Level 2
This course is highly practical and covers the theory and practice of hairdressing. You will have classes in the Hair Workshop and then progress to working with clients in the College's Hair Salon. You will also have the opportunity to visit national hairdressing exhibitions.
What will I learn?
- Consultation and diagnostics - Cutting hair - Colouring hair - Health & safety - Styling and setting hair - Key skills for hairdressers - Key Skills/Functional Skills.
How will I be assessed?
Practical and written assessments including tests to provide essential knowledge of the basic science of hair and skin.
What may it lead to?
Most students will enter employment as hairdressers and stylists in salons and hotels and progress to complete the NVQ 3.
Intermediate Diploma in Hairdressing or equivalent, or 4 GCSEs at C, D, E or above to include English plus hairdressing experience.

For those unable to study full-time. Some salon experience is essential. There will be an opportunity to attend a trip to Paris in February/March.
