Veterinary Nursing Advanced Level Apprenticeship - Level 3
These courses are open only to candidates already employed in a TP veterinary practice. Students will be taught the specialist skills needed to become a veterinary nurse and be able to put the skills learnt into practice in the workplace.
What will I learn?
The College will provide theoretical and practical training which will support their paid employment. The units include health and safety in veterinary practice, animal health, essential veterinary skills, radiography, medical and surgical nursing. During the course students will complete a Nursing Progress Log as a record of evidence that competence has been met in various tasks.
How will I be assessed?
Theory examinations at the end of the first and second years and practical examinations at year 3.
What may it lead to?
Entry Requirements:
You must already be in paid employment in a Veterinary Practice and students must have at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above including Mathematics, English and Science or an ANA qualification. Interview and written assessment.
Additional Information & Other Costs:
Students must have their own transport for college and work placement visits.

This will be a qualified veterinary nurse or a veterinary surgeon.
