Computer Aided Design Higher National Certificate - Level 4
This programme provides students with an excellent grounding in the principles of design, IT and graphical communication as applied to computer-aided design (CAD). It is an ideal development award for those already employed in a related area of technical design. It will give you a broad understanding of key techniques and develop skills necessary in employment.
What will I learn?
The programme equips students for Senior Technician roles in areas such as design engineering and manufacturing or for progression to an HND CAD. This qualification may be used as a pathway to registration with a number of professional bodies including the Institution of Incorporated Engineers in Mechanical Engineering, the Institution of Plan Engineers and the Institution of Engineering Designers
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by a mixture of coursework, project work, reports, essays, presentations and examinations.
What may it lead to?

Entry Requirements:
Applicants must have at least one of the following: 1 A level / Advanced GCE or 2 AS levels in Maths, Physics, IT or Design Technology (for AS entry these must be at Grade B or above, with at least one in Maths or Physics) plus 5 GCSEs at C or above including Maths and English; a BTEC National Diploma preferably in Design, IT or equivalent. (Merit grades or above.)
