Student Survey

Money

NUS and LSN have joined forces to conduct the first piece of research for more than ten years  into the cost of studying in further education (sixth form and general further  education colleges). In that time the FE system has changed enormously,  student numbers have grown, colleges have restructured and the government has  reformed student financial support, introducing the education maintenance  allowance (EMA) and adult learning grant amongst other initiatives. The time  has come to ask students “What does your education cost?”

We need as many FE students as possible to share their experience and views as possible,  so take the survey now, and then get your friends and classmates to do it too.

The survey is entirely confidential, only takes about 15 minutes and,  if you’re lucky, you could win one of three £50 Amazon.co.uk vouchers for  taking part. Your students’ union can also win, with the students’ union that  gets the most responses winning £250 for its campaign fund.

This  results of the research will be given to government, and other agencies responsible for determining the level of financial support to which you are  entitled. It will be used to inform the sector on the real experience of learners, like you, in colleges across the country and as well as yo help your  students’ union campaign in your college. More information about the aims of  the research can be found in the Cost of FE Research Summary.
