Volunteering at Canterbury College

As well as participating in the Students' Union, or being a Course Rep, you can get involved in other ways. The college has excellent link with VSU, a charity who provide a massive range of options if you have some time to give. These can be in Animal Welfare, Arts & Music, Arts or Working with Children or with Elderly People.
Students at the college have been helping raise money for charities such as Red Nose Day and Children in Need as well as helping at the Big Day Out (a volunteering day) a European Business Conference. They have also helped paint school playgrounds, run lunch clubs and provide support and friendship for refugees and asylum seekers.
One of our students, Najeeb Mirzada, recently won a regional 'Personal Commitment' award, which rewards and recognises the achievements of those who have had to overcome significant personal difficulties throughout their volunteering activity.
