Welfare
When you start College you will be allocated a personal tutor who will keep a watchful eye on your progress and will be there to support you.
Learning Support
If you have a learning difficulty or disability we will do our best to provide the specialist staff and resources to help you succeed on your course. Examples of support currently available to our students include:
- Dyslexia Service
- Exam concessions
- Production of materials into Braille and Braille tuition
- Communicators and notetakers
- Specialist IT equipment
- Additional support for Key Skills
Childcare Cost & Financial Assistance
Students may apply to the ‘Learner Support Fund’ for an award if they are in receipt of benefit, or on a low income. This also applies to students whose Parent(s) or Guardian are in receipt of benefits or on a low income.
Awards are allocated for:
- Childcare
- Equipment/Protective Clothing
- Levies
- Travel
- Unforseen financial hardship
Careers Advice
Careers information, advice and guidance is available to all students, as well as career guidance workshops from qualified staff in the Learning Resources Centre. Next Step free careers advice.

A careers consultant from Connexions visits the College regularly giving one-to-one guidance and group careers workshops. Visit the Connexions Kent and Medway web site.
