This course will prepare students for entry into employment at trainee level within some leisure and tourism environments.
Course content to include:
To achieve this qualification, candidates must complete 12 units consisting of 6 mandatory units and 6 optional units.
Mandatory Units
- working as a team in leisure and tourism
- Investigating leisure and tourism provision
- Introducing skills for working in leisure and tourism
- Investigating options for work in leisure and tourism
- Communication skills in leisure and tourism
- Problem solving in leisure and tourism
Optional Units
- Transport for tourism
- UK Visitor attractions
- ICT for travel and tourism
- Promotion for travel and tourism
- Presentation software in travel and tourism
- Using the Internet
Duration:
1 Year
Entry requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements. Entry is by interview.
Assessment:
A combination of assignments and tests.
Progression:
This qualification is designed to offer candidates skills that will prepare them to enter employment at trainee level within some leisure and tourism environments. It will also enable progression on to further qualifications at Level 2.
