Students studying for a qualification in Childhood Education have helped to raise money for the NSPCC by taking part in a Challenge Quiz.
Nine teams of four students all competed against each-other in the quiz, which was organised by Early Years staff, before the top three teams took part in a final.
The quiz consisted of eight categories; Films, TV, Early Years and Childhood, Music, Food, Sport, General Knowledge and Guess the Nursery Rhyme.
Jon Dent, Director of Quality and Innovation took on the role of quiz master at the event. Jon said: “Designed as an enlivening and enriching activity for the learners to inject a bit of fun into the courses it was a fabulous success. The students and staff had gone to tremendous efforts to create their own banners, hats, t-shirts, flags and even special ‘intelligence glasses’ to get everyone into the spirit of the event and this created a marvellous spectacle with plenty of cheering and a really competitive and carnival atmosphere.”
The winning team were awarded the Early Years Challenge Cup, each member of the team also got a bunch of flowers and box of chocolates.
