Swale Communities See What’s on Offer at College
People living in Swale have been given a chance to find out what’s on offer at their local college and how they can sign up to study for a qualification.
Visitor numbers to the Canterbury College at Sheppey open day on Tuesday (9th November) were up on previous years with many managing to secure a place on a variety of courses for 2011-2012.
There were demonstrations staged in the main hall by current students taking qualifications in Beauty Therapy & Hairdressing and an exhibition of work carried out by Construction students.
College lecturers from Business Administration, Computing and IT, Independent Learning and Leisure and Travel and Tourism were also on hand to speak to prospective students.
The advice and guidance team also provided information on money and travel.
Head of Sheppey Campus, Philip Wicker said: “It’s fantastic to see so many people come along to the college to find out what we can offer.” He added: “One of the great benefits of the college is that we can provide flexible learning so people can combine their studies with employment if they want to.” Philip also said: “The college has a track record of outstanding student achievement as we have teachers with vast industry experience.”
Canterbury College at Sheppey is a satellite of Canterbury College and has been open since 1996.
It offers a variety of courses in a modern and friendly learning environment and enjoys excellent rates of success.
