Students Raise Money for Children in Need
Students at Canterbury College and Canterbury College at Sheppey have been taking part in a range of events to raise money for this year’s BBC Children in Need.
On Tuesday (16th November) around 50 students from Admin, Finance and Travel and Tourism, at Canterbury College at Sheppey took part in a sponsored walk from the campus to Minster Abbey Gatehouse, and back again – approx. 7 miles.
It looked like a scene for the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie was being filmed in Canterbury on Thursday (18th November) when students from the New Dover Road campus dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow and co. descended on the High Street to collect money.
There was also a performance of the classic Bill Withers track ‘Lean on Me’ by members of the Glee Club at Canterbury College on Friday (19th November) as fellow students, dressed in their pyjamas, collected money around the campus.
In total, the College raised more than £1,350.
