Secrets of Beauty and Holistic Therapies Revealed - 03/02/11

Ever wanted to know the benefits of Indian Head Massage or find out the most effective techniques in waxing? The Sheppey Campus of Canterbury College is just the place to find out.

Short courses in Waxing Techniques and Indian Head Massage are being offered at the Campus on Bridge Road in Sheerness.

Participants on the highly practical Waxing Techniques course will get to learn about products, current techniques and anatomy of the skin and hair, while the Indian Head Massage course covers its history, effects and benefits and includes working with clients in the Campus Beauty Salon.

People taking either course could go onto progress to the Level 1 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy starting in September 2011.

Fay Morgan, Vocational Team Leader in the Hair and Beauty Department at Sheppey Campus, said: “There are a whole range of people who can benefit from courses like this, whether they want to pursue a career in beauty or holistic therapy, develop a hobby into a profession or just learn a completely new skill. Anyone completing these courses will end up with a recognised qualification and will be able to get insurance to practice.”

The Level 2 City and Guilds Waxing Techniques course will run for 12 weeks from 10th February on Thursday evenings from 6pm – 9pm.

The Level 3 City and Guilds Indian Head Massage Course will run for 10 weeks from 7th May and will take place on Saturday’s from 9am – 1pm.
