New Summer Fun Holiday Club at Canterbury College
Canterbury College has launched a ‘Summer Fun Holiday Club’ to help combat boredom this summer and help desperate parents cope with the long summer break.
For two weeks in August, parents can send their children to a range of hands-on activities at the College. With more than 30 exciting courses to choose from including learning to look after meerkats, make movies, build a motor kart, become a hair stylist and much more, there is something for everyone.
The activities are designed for 11-16 year olds in a safe, exciting and fun environment, and make the most of the New Dover Road campus’ state-of-the-art facilities.
Animal lovers can choose between reptile handling, dog grooming, horse care, caring for exotic birds or working in the College’s impressive meerkat enclosure.
Fashion fans can create costumes or design hair for a photo shoot. Those on the hair styling course will make use of the College’s acclaimed training spa and salon which is also running a nail art course.
Sporting types can take part in a series of Olympic Games-inspired events while aspiring chefs can pick up some tips and show off their newfound skills in a Canterbury cook-off.
Other activities include playing in a rock band, flower arranging and floral jewellery design, a forensic science murder mystery, Photoshop workshops and plumbing and bricklaying sessions. If children can’t make up their minds, they can do one activity in the morning and different one in the afternoon.
It costs £15 to take part for a single day or £70 for a week. Payment can be made in cash at the college, cheque via post or by credit card.
