Beauty Student could be TV farmers wife

Canterbury College was featured in an episode on Wednesday 23 September 2009 in TV Show Farmer Wants a Wife.

The Channel Five TV show returned to television screens last week and in this series one of the young hopefuls is Canterbury College student Sarah Jayne Wright.

Sarah applied for the show having seen an advertising campaign which ran on Channel Five at the beginning of the year. The show was recorded at the start of the summer and as well as filming around the country Sarah recorded some footage on the college campus; in her classroom and with her classmates.

Sarah completed her BTEC National Diploma in Beauty Therapy Sciences in July and is now hoping for success as a model.

The popular six week series follows the cream of Britain's eligible farmers as they try to meet the woman of their dreams. In their quest to find someone to share their idyllic country life, each farmer will choose a date from the ladies who have applied via a bespoke dating website. The farmers will whittle this down to two finalists who will then come to stay on the farm. Potential partners will then live on the farms with their suitors for five days.

In the second episode, Canterbury College Beauty Student Sarah Jayne Wright appears as one of the hopefuls trying to woo farmer Willie.  Sarah was chosen by Willie himself as a finalist, on the basis of the profile and pictures she submitted to the Channel Five website.

Sarah said “I’m so excited, I can't wait to see what I actually look like on TV. The show has been so much fun, a real challenge and experience I will never forget”.
