Art students impress The Lord Mayor of Canterbury with their final show
The
talented students are only the second intake to undertake the new course so
there was a real sense of achievement as they showcased their work in front of invited
guests.
Guest of honour Cyril Windsor, The Lord Mayor of Canterbury and his wife The Lady Mayoress, Leslie Windsor joined the celebration. Leslie said, “I find it really stimulating to see the young people’s work. I get quite excited by it and really appreciate what they do; they obviously put a lot of work behind their projects.”
Hayley Stickles, 21 from Folkestone, said “The course has been brilliant, it enables you to stand on your own two feet as you get to run exhibitions and do work experience.”
Anna Webber, Higher Education Co-ordinator Art and Design added, “The students produced an excellent body of work and now they have completed the BA they’ll have the skills and knowledge to be practising artists. I wish them all the very best with their future careers.”
