Arts & Media Centre

The refurbished Goodwin building now houses Pottery, Sculpture and Fine Art. Phase 2 now sees the introduction of a Performing Arts Theatre, rehearsal rooms and a TV & Media studio, all of which have been treated with sound insulation/acoustics. A dance studio, costume studio and related rooms complement the new Art & Media department.

Cafeteria/Food Hall

State of the Art facilities provide the college community with a variety of food choices throughout the day, whether it is as a sit down option, or 'grab and go' shop style outlet.  Modern furniture and colour scheme make this area feel fresh and very welcoming.

PHASE 2 - Design Period


June 2005 - October 2005

Government approval for phases 2 & 3 valued at £29,543m, comprising 11,900m² of new build facilities incorporating a new food hall, learning resource centre, theatre, arts, media, travel & tourism conference areas, administration space and general teaching areas.

Procurement route is a design & build and Wates are working within an agreed contact sum.

  • Net construction costs are circa £1,420 per m².
  • Professional fees are 10.36% (Project team) and an additional 0.75% for financial, legal and other ancillary support.

Completion of phase 2 by December 2007.
